About Me
I have always loved to paint and draw.
From an early age I was encouraged by my teachers and parents to pursue a career in art and design, so following secondary school in 1996 I studied Art and Design at Exeter College for 3 years. I went on to work in the magazine publishing world until I found myself settling on a career in fashion Graphic Design. I have been designing t-shirt graphics / textile patterns for the last 20 years, which has given me the opportunity to travel the world, meet some amazing people and visit a lot of art galleries … However, my work always seems to lead me home, back to Devon.
My work investigates landscape and its relationship with memories and fiction, blurring the boundaries of reality with abstraction and an unexpected sci-fi lens. I aim to create otherworldly renditions of concrete spaces breaking down colour and composition, imbuing the pieces with my emotions and memories of the spaces.
My work consists of mixed media digital collages, using elements of photography and painting, alongside oil and acrylic paintings on board and canvas.
I currently live and work in Leyton, East London with my wife and daughter.
